Why Fono exists
Most AI chat tools are built for enterprises with dedicated customer success teams. Fono is built for the other 99% — the small business where the founder is still answering support emails at 10pm. We wanted a chat widget that actually understands your product, handles the repetitive questions on its own, and hands off cleanly when a real human is needed.
What we believe
- AI-first, but never AI-only. Hard cases need humans. The AI should know when to step aside.
- Data stays in the EU. GDPR isn't a checkbox. Your customer conversations are hosted on EU infrastructure.

Who we are
Fono is built by a small remote team based in the European Union. We come from backgrounds in data engineering, customer support, and SaaS product development. We're privately funded and committed to building the product in public.

Trust & privacy
Customer conversations and knowledge-base content are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256-GCM). OAuth tokens for third-party connectors live in a separate encrypted store. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
